Please see the summary below of my apprenticeship which hopefully provides a simple explanation of the route I’ve chosen.
Summary:
I am currently working as a full time Solicitor Degree Apprentice, as part of A&O Shearman’s 6-year Level 7 Solicitor Degree Apprenticeship Programme. I work in a “Magic Circle” law firm, which is one of the most prestigious law firms in the world, in which we have offices in over 52 countries, meaning there is huge scope for international working. Alongside working full time within the firm, I am also studying and working towards obtaining my Law Degree at BPP University simultaneously. At the end of my 6-year apprenticeship, I will be qualified as a Lawyer at 24 years old. This is the fast-track route into becoming a Lawyer. For those more motivated by money, I am currently in my second year on £34,000 (at 19 years old) and will be entering my third year this September on £40,000 (at 20 years old). The starting salary for newly qualified Lawyers at my firm is £150,000 (at 24 years old).

Students were given the chance to ask questions about Millie’s progression and journey from GCSEs here at Cecil Jones Academy, as well as attending the Sixth Form here before commencing her apprenticeship - she had always intended to go university until the summer of 2023 and delivered an exciting different route into her dream job.
